UPDATE: Please review my process as scheduling and fees are changing for 2026

Applicants, please read over all of this information with your instructor. All practical tests must be authorized by the FAA in Designee Management System (DMS) prior to being conducted.

If you have a unique scenario or a question about your logbook or endorsements, please put that in the comments field. I will gladly review things ahead of time at no charge so that the exam day goes much more smoothly!

Beginning January 1, 2026, I am no longer scheduling long-range appointments for PVT/INST/COM applicants.  Too many appointments were canceled in 2025 due to training delays and eligibility issues.

In order to request an appointment, you must be done with training, meet eligibility, and have your IACRA application completed and signed by your Recommending Instructor.

Then, I will schedule you in the following 1-2 weeks.

If a PVT/INST/COM applicant must schedule an appointment beyond the rolling 2-week cycle, I will require a non-refundable, non-transferable booking fee of $250 paid by check or money order only, due within 10 business days after your appointment confirmation email (or the appointment will be cancelled).

Please ensure your student has received and logged the appropriate ground training on the aeronautical knowledge areas of §61.105(b), §61.65(b), §61.129(b), or §61.185(a).

Also ensure your student has received and logged ground and flight training on the appropriate areas of operation §61.107(b)(1), §61.65(c), §61.127(b)(1), or §61.187(b)(1) or (b)(7).
